TREES for homes: JOBCREATION PROJECT

Trees for Homes programme aims to encourage awareness and education on the benefit and the impact of urban greening within Zandspruit communities. To achieve this, 5 unemployed individuals from the community was trained at Emthonjeni Community Centres on the 21 January 2012 to become Community Educators (CE’s).  Their role will be to conduct door to door visits to 178 households spreading awareness to homeowners of the benefits of planting trees, impact of trees in addressing climate change, importance of looking after their environment.

 The CE’s will further be inviting homeowners to come celebrate and to collect their trees on the 29 February at Emthonjeni Community Centre.
