Story by Refilwe Khoza
It was a big day on the 8th of September . We were hosting an HIV/AIDS campaign, but at first things were not the way we planned them to be like. I had started a day by going to school doing my lessons at nooitgedaght. When we arrived from school I found that things were not prepared, they just dropped the boxes (with the information pamphlets and tests) there and everyone was just standing not having a clue on what they should do. I addressed everyone and everything started going smoothly. The work we did was tiring, but it was great because we got a good response from the community, everyone wanted to know their status.
In the beginning things were slow and then we had to reach out to the community instead of just sitting on our stations only. Then after school those school kids wanted to test and the queue was too long so we had to extend out time. At the end the outcome of the campaign is the positive one because the community wanted us to extend the day of the campaign.
