We prepare and serve approximately 32 240 meals per month which are given to learners at various schools.

Nutritional food kitchens

The last 12 months was a real growth year for our two kitchens, serving an average of 8060 meals each week — a record that exceeds the previous years meals of 1,210. These hot and nutritionally-balanced meals, served from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays, helped sustain the children and relieve their hunger.

Awesome blessings include a new kitchen at Esperanza Primary, and a food court at Dowling Primary sponsored by local businesses in the community. This food court allows the children to sit down at meal times, instilling a sense of dignity and pride. 

 

Dowling Primary operates five days a week during school hours. 

Monday          1150 learners receive a cooked meal.

Tuesday           950 learners receive a cooked meal.

Wednesday   1150 learners receive a cooked meal.

Thursday          950 learners receive a cooked meal.

Friday            1150 learners receive a cooked meal.

An additional 260 aftercare children receive a cooked meal four times a week.

Esperanza Primary operates five days a week during school hours benefiting approximately a 160 learners.

Monday          Waterval Congregation supplies the meals.

Tuesday         learners receive a cooked meal.

Wednesday    learners receive a cooked meal.

Thursday        learners receive a cooked meal.

Friday            Bartman family supplies each learner with a cooked meal.
