Mozambique News 24 July 2009
- Several church plants are in need of church facilities. We are currently building a new church in Machaila and Mapai. The churches here are growing in number and facilities will strengthen their influence. In Panda two more churches are needed and one in Manjacaze.
- We are having an outreach this coming week in Machaila where together with Ruimsig Gemeente we will reach out to the community. There is a strong children’s ministry planned, we will also reach out to both men and woman in a social way. The work projects include the construction of gutters for the school and clinic’s roof for water catchment and continue work on the church building. A team of 31 people will be involved in this. Please pray for us next week.
- In Panda we have so far made 1900 bricks for the construction of the leadership training facility. This work is in progress on daily basis. We are starting with wall construction in the next two weeks.
- An exciting new development is the training of Celeste, a youth from the Manjacaze church. She is being trained to assist with administration work; she just finished a computer course and is now learning typing skills. She will help Mozaic out with much of our communication with government, meeting and project reports and updating our data base on projects.
- Our water security program is showing good progress. Tomas has mastered the skill of building water pumps and the team is now actively digging boreholes. We are hoping to finish 15 boreholes this year helping 15 families living with HIV with water security and vegetable gardens plus training.
- The Toyota Hilux has undergone surgery. Thanks to a good friend who overhauled the engine completely and is now ready for another 250 000km of service in the rural bushes of Gaza.
