Embark Foundation

Embark Foundation is a welfare organisation that has its roots deep within the community it serves. It is spearheaded by people with passion and commitment to uplift those in need.  

 

Who are we?

Embark Foundation is an association incorporated under Section 21, Registration number 2007/018438/08. It is registered with SARS as a Public Benefit Organization, Registration number 930025696.

All organizations are heavily dependant on funds, resources and volunteers to operate. Embark Foundation is no different.  Embark Foundation has initiated many projects and aligned it with organizations that are already successfully in place. We are totally involved in generating the necessary funds or resources to meet those needs. By enlisting the help of the greater community we give them the opportunity to be a part of something that is for the greater good of all.

Vision

The Vision of Embark Foundation is to establish and duplicate sustainable projects within communities through the building of meaningful relationships and in so doing impart creative energy, vitality, dignity and a new sense of purpose and hope in people's lives.

Objectives

To achieve the effective realization of the Mission Statement, Vision and Values, the work of Embark Foundation is structured through the implementation of the objectives as listed below.

  • To create a safe and loving environment for HIV/abandoned babies - until they are either adopted or die of related diseases.   
  • To establish projects that support less fortunate children by meeting their nutritional, educational and recreational needs.
  • To establish sustainable projects that support unemployed adults with dependants by empowering them through skills development and therefore enabling them to assist others in need.
  • To offer support and care to senior citizens forgotten by their families and loved ones.
  • Offer support through building of relationships that imparts energy and vitality into people.

Structure

Embark Foundation has a staff compliment of 14. The Social Upliftment Leader leads Embark Foundations day to day activities.

achievements of 2009...

Florida Baby Home - touched the lives of 50 babies.

Forest Farm - offered financial and emotional support to a 100 residents and staff members.

Nutritional Feeding Scheme - delivered 16 848 cooked meals & 1 404 food parcels to13 senior families living with hunger.

Nutritional Food Kitchens - prepared a 104 000 meals for Dowling & Esperanza Primary Schools.

Children of the Winter - Job creation for 40 women who knitted 1 000 jerseys for underprivileged children.

Roodepoort Children's Court - Touched the lives of 1 440 sexually abused children by offering nutritional support. Investing in the emotional needs of staff members.

Expo Arts & Crafts - Market grew with 30%; with a R4, 8mil turnover.
