Truida Botha verwerf haar B Prim Ed (JP) in 1999 en B Ed (Sielk) in 2000 aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch. Sy verwerf haar M Ed (Sielk) in 2002 aan die Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit en registreer as Sielkundige by die Gesondheidsraad van Suid-Afrika. In haar skripsie ondersoek sy die invloed wat intern sielkundiges se MBTI®-profiele op hulle teoretiese raamwerk as terapeute het. Sy is besonder geïnteresseerd in persoonlikheid en die invloed daarvan op verhoudings. Truida is sedert 2004 in privaatpraktyk in Greenside, Johannesburg en vir die afgelope vier jaar deel van die multi-dissiplinere span van Wholeness @ Mosaiek. Haar dienste sluit in: skoolgereedheidsassesserings, volledige assesserings met betrekking tot spesifieke leerprobleme, vakkeuse- en beroepsassesserings sowel as supervisie vir ander sielkundiges. Sy het ‘n besondere passie vir psigoterapie in die vorm van speelterapie of individuele terapie om sodoende kinders, adolossente, studente en families deur emosionele kwessies of trauma te begelei. Haar teoretiese benadering is daarop gefundeer om kinders en families na optimale funksionering te begelei. Sy werk onder andere met Narratiewe en Gestaltbeginsels wat daarop gefokus is om oplossingsgesentreerd te wees.

Truida volg ‘n holistiese en sistemiese benadering in haar praktyk. Sy spesialiseer verder in ouerbegeleiding en werk gereeld met ma’s wat met postnatale depressie gediagnoseer word, in ‘n poging om hulle funksionering en gesinsdinamiek te optimaliseer. Truida is ook huidiglik besig om navorsing te doen met betrekking tot postnatale depressie en die invloed daarvan op primêre binding. ‘n Proses van lewenslange leer word deur die Gesonheidsraad van Suid-Afrika (HPCSA) aangemoedig. Dit vereis dat elke geregistreerde lid van die HPCSA elke jaar 30 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) punte moet verdien. Hierdie punte word opgedoen deur kursusse aangebied, bygewoon, asook artikels geskryf. Die laaste kursusse wat Truida bygewoon het, is: "Mending the Broken Bond - Attachment Disorders in South African Children"; Selfmoord; Storie Analise met Kinders; Positiewe Veroudering en Egskeiding - Die invloed daarvan op Tieners. Truida is huidiglik besig om haar eie kursus te ontwikkel in Verliesbegeleiding met Kinders. Haar professionele opinies word in koerant- en tydskrifartikels, asook in televisie- en radioprogramme gebruik.

Truida is getroud met Francois, ‘n bestuursrekenmeester en het twee pragtige dogters, Kari en Nina. Hulle bly in Greenside, Johannesburg.

Truida Botha obtains her B Prim Ed (JP) degree in 1999 and B Ed (Psych) in 2000 at the University of Stellenbosch. She obtains her M Ed (Psych) in 2002 at the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and registers as Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). In her thesis she investigates the influence that intern psychologists’ MBTI® profiles have on their theoretical framework as therapists. She is particularly interested in personality and the influence it has on relationships. In 2004 Truida started in private practice in Greenside, Johannesburg and has been part of the muli-disciplinary team at Wholeness @ Mosaiek for tha past four years. Her services include: school readiness assessments, full assessments with regards to specific learning difficulties, subject choice and career assessments as well as supervision for other psychologists. She has a passion for psychotherapy in the form of play therapy or individual therapy to guide children, adolescents and families through emotional issues and trauma. Her theoretical approach is grounded to guide children and families to optimal functioning. She works with Narrative and Gestalt techniques that are solution focused.

Truida follows a holistic and systemic approach in her practice. She furthermore specialises in parental guidance and often works with mothers diagnosed with post natal depression, in an effort to optimise their functioning on a personal level as well as in the family context. Truida is currently doing research on post natal depression and the influence it has on primary attachment. A process of lifelong learning is encouraged by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). This implies that every registered member of the HPCSA have to earn 30 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points per annum. These points are earned by workshops presented, attended as well as articles written and published. The most recent courses that Truida attended are: Mending the Broken Bond - Attachment Disorders in South African Children; Suicide; Story Analysis with Children; Positive Ageing and Divorce - How Teenagers are affected. Truida is currently busy developing her own course in Berievement counselling with Children. Her professional opinions are used in newspaper and magazine articles and in television and radio shows.

Truida is married to Francois, a Management Accountant and has two beautiful daughters, Kari and Nina. They live in Greenside, Johannesburg.
